Biography: 

Ángel Estévez Alonso is a post-doctoral researcher at CMET. He obtained his PhD title in Environmental Biotechnology at Delft University of Technology in 2022 in a collaboration between TU Delft and Wetsus. His PhD project was focused on the use of municipal waste activated sludge for biopolymers production. At CMET, he is working in the production of short-chain and medium-chain carboxylic acids from agricultural waste streams. In general, Ángel is fascinated by environmental microbiology, especially by how microorganisms adapt to different environmental conditions and interact with each other.
