BSM symposium 2025

Last Friday, ten members of CMET had the opportunity to attend the BSM symposium 2025, “amAIzing Microbiology”, in Brussels. The event featured a diverse range of talks, covering topics from general microbiology to applied and environmental microbiology, as well as host-microbe interactions. It was an excellent opportunity to expand our knowledge of the latest developments in these fields.

We also presented our own research findings, including studies on drinking water production and biostability, TNT pollution and degradation, quorum sensing in Archaea, and virulence inhibitors for aquaculture pathogens. This allowed us to gain insightful feedback and to connect with colleagues from different backgrounds.

The BSM symposium is an accessible and versatile event that covers various topics within the interesting world of microbiology, offering both early-career PhD students and more experienced researchers the chance to connect and exchange ideas. We are already looking forward to next year’s edition!
